Recreation Programs
Basketball
We provide a basketball program throughout the year for boys and girls ages 9 - 14. Participants learn basic skills and practice challenging games.
Guest speakers participate by discussing basketball fundamentals, life skills, and their basketball experiences. They also talk about various issues related to teen challenges.
Objectives
- Teach skills and rules of the game of basketball through instruction and practice.
- Teach discipline and acceptance of demands, structure and guidelines of interactions in regards to the sport.
- Teach perseverance and creative approaches to enhance life skills.
Goals
- Youth will develop socialization skills that will lead to a social network and engagement in society that results in successful outcomes.
- Youth will demonstrate sportsmanship and acceptance of outcomes with a positive frame of mind.
- Youth will develop positive discipline that will provide an outlet for negative impulses related to the frustrations of everyday life.
- Youth will experience increased levels of physical fitness and health.
- Youth will develop self-confidence and self-esteem that will lead to success in all areas of life.
- The experience will build character and respect for others.

Community Children's Christmas Party
We sponsor a Christmas party each year in which local youth are invited to play fun games, indulge in Christmas crafts, and enjoy refreshments.
We close the event with a live nativity followed by distribution of toys donated by the Civic League, local businesses and individuals.
Outdoor Basketball
Our outdoor basketball court is available to and utilized by local youth providing a place for exercise and socialization.
